One of the amazing “ah-ha's” I have had since I started the www.CarShowCentral.com website is recognizing the great generosity of car enthusiasts everywhere. It is very amazing and heartwarming to see the large number of Car Shows that donate their proceedings to various national and local charities and community outreach programs. I recently reviewed each of the over 300 car show on my site, and I found that well over 30% of those car shows have listed a specific charity that they are donating either all or a portion of their procedures towards.

I recently returned from a fun-filled car show with my shiny black Mustang GT, I pull into my garage and got ready to put my car under its custom fitted car cover, only to discover a couple of new scratches on my paint, plus a sticky, gooey full handprint on the front fender. How did all these scratches get on my cars? Who left their sticky gooey handprint all over my car?

I love to attend car shows with my family. It is great to walk around and see each of the cars, all shined-up and looking good. But, there is more to a nice ride other than the outward looks. As they say, it is what’s on the inside that really counts… One of those most-important “inside” qualities is how the car sounds. In my book, that is one of the most critical aspects of having an all-around great show car. Although it may not be part of the judging criteria, it is one of my criteria for an overall great car.

Enjoy the ride..
A couple of years ago, I bought a cherry, 1967 red Mustang. It was a fun car to drive, and was certainly in good enough shape to enter a car show. But, the hard part was actually finding some car shows in my area...

Oh, the stupid things we do when we are young.
Well, it was 1973, and I was getting ready to get married. The price of gas was getting higher. It went from $.33 per gallon all the way up to $.55 per gallon, and I was going to become a family man. There were gas shortages, lines at gas stations, and rationing of gas. I was going to have responsibility. I needed to be able to support my family. How could I be so immature and irresponsible as to keep my sports car...

The Unexpected Car Show
Category: The Unexpected Car Show
One of the great thrills of life is accidentally stumbling across a great car show. This happened to me while in Park City, Utah last fall. It turned out to be one of the most fun car shows I have been to. My wife, Tammy was with her friend Kelly, shopping at a local craft fair. They planned to tour the hundreds of craft booths for most of the day. So, needless to say, Kelly’s husband, Dave, and their daughter, Mellissa, along with me and my 17 year old son, Ryan, decided there had to be something better to do with our time.
So we went into Park City and had a great time riding the Alpine Slide and Zip Line. After an hour or so, we were wandering through Park City, looking for something fun to do, when we walked onto Main Street, and, low and behold, there were hundreds of Mustangs lined up and down the street for as far as the eye could see! We just stumbled across Mustang Car Show Heaven. What a thrill that was. High in the top of the Rocky Mountains was a herd of Mustangs, just waiting to be admired. It turned out to be the 2008 Mustang Club of America Grand Nationals. We spent the next 2 or 3 hours enjoying this unexpected treat. Mixed in with the historic Main Street of Park City, Utah, was the historic line-up of Mustangs, from the 64s to 08s. Yahoo, ride-em cowboy! There is nothing like the thrill of accidentally finding a great car show, especially in the top of the Rocky Mountains on a beautiful fall afternoon. The Alpine Slide and Zip Lines were certainly fun that day, but, the greatest thrill was definitely the finding the Unexpected Mustang Car Show.
